Managing Your Website's Home Page

Update your Home page, your site-wide contact details, social links, favicon and inquiry settings in the website CMS.

Written by Kalila Richards

Your Home page is the first page visitors see. It pulls in content from the rest of your site, such as your current exhibitions, so most of it stays up to date on its own. Home is also where you manage settings that apply to your whole site: your contact details, social links, favicon and how website inquiries reach you.

🏠 Editing the Home page

Hover over any text or image on the page. If a blue Edit tag appears, you can change it right there. Click Publish when you're done.

Which exhibitions appear at the top, and how their titles look over the images, is set on each exhibition. See Managing Exhibitions on Your Website for Hero text tone and Cover image.

  2. Update the fields you need (see below).

  3. Click Save at the top right.

Search and sharing (available on every page's settings)

  • Title: the page title shown in search results and browser tabs. It doesn't change the heading on the page.

  • Description: the short summary shown in search results. Aim for 50 to 160 characters. The Preview shows how it may look in Google.

  • Social Preview: the image shown when someone shares the page, at 1200 × 630 pixels.

General (Home only)

  • Favicon: the small icon in the browser tab. It's resized to 64 × 64 pixels for you.

  • New works hidden by default: when it's on, new works you add to an artist, exhibition or fair stay off your site until you turn them on. Works added before you turned it on aren't affected.

  • Contact Email and Contact Phone: your gallery's contact details for the site.

  • Inquiry Email: where artwork inquiries and store requests are sent. If it's empty, they go to your Contact Email.

  • Inquiry List Name: the contact list in ARTERNAL that website inquirers are added to. If it's empty, it's called Website Enquiries.

  • Social Media Links: your Instagram, X (Twitter) and Facebook addresses.
