The CMS is where you manage your ARTERNAL website. Open it from CMS in the ARTERNAL navigation bar. It shows your live site in an editor, so you can see what visitors will see while you make changes.
đ§ Finding your way around
Pages (left sidebar): one entry for each page on your site, such as Home, Exhibitions, Artists, Art Fairs, News, Store, About and Contact. Your list matches the pages on your own site, so the names may differ.
Posts: below the pages. This is where you write news, press and store posts.
Gear icon (top left): opens the settings for the page you're on. You can also hover over a page in the sidebar and click its gear.
Content (top left): appears on pages that list artists, exhibitions or fairs. It opens the panel where you choose what shows on your site.
Preview (â¶, top right): hides the editing tools so you can see the page exactly as a visitor would. Click it again, or press Esc, to go back to editing.
Publish (top right): makes your changes live.
đ Drafts and Publish
Every change you make in the CMS is saved as a draft first. This includes turning artists or works on and off, editing text on a page, changing page settings and writing posts. Nothing changes on your live site until you click Publish.
While you edit on a page, a note at the bottom right shows Saving⊠and then Saved (draft).
Publish is blue when you have changes waiting. Clicking it publishes every waiting change across your whole site at once, not just the page you're on.
To undo a change before publishing, change it back. For example, turning a switch back to how it was removes it from your waiting changes.
âïž Editing text and images on the page
On pages like About and Contact, you edit the text and images directly on the page.
Hover over the text or image you want to change. A dotted outline and a blue Edit tag appear.
Click it and make your change.
Click Publish when you're ready for it to go live.
Which parts of a page are editable depends on how your site was designed. If something you want to change isn't editable, contact our team.
âFAQs
Q: I clicked Publish on one page. Did it publish my changes on other pages too?
A: Yes. Publish sends every waiting change on your site live at once.
Q: Can I see my changes before I publish?
A: Yes. The editor already shows your drafts. Click Preview (â¶) to see the page without the editing tools.
Q: My site is in two languages. Where do I translate?
A: Bilingual sites have a Translations page in the sidebar, below Posts. It lists what still needs translating. Click an item to open it in the other language.
