Every Online Viewing Room (OVR) has two links you can copy: a public link and an internal link. Both open the same OVR. The only difference is tracking.
The short answer
Public link: Tracking is on. Use it when you share the OVR with clients.
Internal link: Tracking is off. Use it when your team wants to look at the OVR without adding to its visitor activity.
How to copy each link
Click Copy Link. You'll find it in the top bar of the OVR editor, next to each link on the Viewing Room Links page, and in a link's activity view.
Choose Public Link or Internal Link.
A message confirms which link you copied: "Link Copied! (tracking enabled)" or "Link Copied! (tracking disabled)".
What the internal link does
Visits are not recorded. They don't show up in the OVR's visitor activity or in a contact's activity.
No visit is tracked, no matter who opens the link.
A green banner at the top of the OVR reads "Viewing Preview (tracking disabled)", so you know tracking is off.
Tracking stays off as you click into artworks and move from one artwork to the next.
đĄ Good to know
The Preview button uses the internal link. Previewing your OVR never counts as a visit.
The internal link is not private. Anyone who has it can open the OVR. Their visit just isn't tracked. Share it only with your team.
Always send clients the public link. If a client gets the internal link, you won't see their activity.
FAQ
Q: How can I tell the two links apart?
A: The internal link is the public link with ?track=false added to the end.
Q: My gallery uses its own web address for OVRs. Does the internal link still work?
A: Yes. The internal link uses the same address as your public link, with ?track=false added to the end.
