Archiving and Assignment Now Appear on the Contact Timeline

The contact activity timeline now logs archiving, unarchiving, and assignment changes, each with the person who made them. Learn where to find these entries and how to use them to track handoffs between team members.

Written by Kalila Richards

The activity timeline on a contact record now captures three actions that previously went unlogged:

  • Archiving a contact

  • Unarchiving a contact

  • Assigning or re-assigning a contact

Each entry shows the person who made the change and when, alongside the rest of the contact's history.

🔍 Where to find it

Open any contact record and go to the Activity timeline. New entries appear automatically — there's nothing to turn on.

💡 Why it matters

  • Accountability on reassignment. When a contact moves between team members, the handoff is on the record instead of in someone's memory.

  • Explaining a disappearing contact. If a contact isn't showing up in a view, the timeline shows whether it was archived and by whom.

  • Audit trail for shared accounts. Multi-user galleries can see who changed what without asking around.

❓FAQs
