Generate a unique, shareable link for a single artwork directly from the artwork record.
The Share Link feature lets you quickly send an artwork to a collector without creating an Online Viewing Room. Each link can be tied to a specific contact for activity tracking.
Recipients do not need an ARTERNAL account to view the work.
How to Create a Share Link
Step 1: Open the Artwork
Go to Inventory and click into the artwork you’d like to share.
Step 2: Click the Share Icon
In the top right corner of the artwork record, click the Share icon.
The Create Share Link window will appear.
Step 3: Select a Contact
Start typing to search and select a contact.
When you select a contact:
A unique share link is generated specifically for them
Activity can be associated with that contact
💡 You must select a contact to create a share link. ARTERNAL generates a unique link tied to that contact so activity can be associated with them.
Step 4: Adjust Settings
Before creating the link, you can:
Toggle Hide Price on or off
Then click Create Link.
Step 5: Copy the Link
After clicking Create Link, you’ll see a confirmation message. Click Copy Link URL to copy the link.
What the Recipient Sees
When the link is opened:
It loads in a browser
No login is required
The page is clean and minimal
The recipient sees:
Artwork image
Artist name
Title
Medium
Dimensions
Location
Price (if not hidden)
If shared via iMessage or other messaging apps, the link automatically generates a preview card with the artwork image and title.
Important: Tracking Activity
To properly associate activity:
Share the link only with the selected contact
Each contact-specific link is unique
If the link is forwarded to someone else, any activity will still be associated with the original contact. For advanced tracking and engagement insights, use Smart Mail or an Online Viewing Room.
When to Use Share Link vs OVR
Use Share Link when:
You need to send one artwork quickly
You don’t need branding customization
You want a simple, clean presentation
Use an Online Viewing Room when:
Sharing multiple works
You want analytics and engagement tracking
You need a branded presentation
