Reassigning a Contact from One User to Another

Learn how to reassign contacts from one user to another in ARTERNAL using individual contact records or bulk actions.

Contacts in ARTERNAL can be reassigned to a different user by updating the Assigned User field directly within the contact record or through bulk actions in the Contacts section.

This is commonly used when transferring collector relationships or updating account ownership.

Reassigning a Single Contact

To reassign an individual contact:

  1. Go to Contacts

  2. Open the contact record

  3. Locate the Assigned User field

  4. Select the new user from the dropdown

The contact will now be assigned to the selected user.


Reassigning Contacts in Bulk

To update multiple contacts at once:

  1. Go to Contacts

  2. Select multiple contacts

  3. Head to the Selection Cart

  4. Open the bulk actions menu

  5. Choose Assign User button

  6. Select the new assigned user

This will update the assigned user across all selected contacts.


Important Notes

  • Reassigning a contact does not delete activity history

  • Contact notes, emails, and transactions remain attached to the contact record

  • Bulk reassignment can help quickly reorganize ownership across teams
